1) The focus group involves
a group of media students, in groups discussing and evaluating their
production ideas. This other media students to question and challenge other
peoples work, causing them to trigger further ideas or even to pint out things
they might not hav taken into consideration, to perfect their production, this
could involve the narrative or even setting and location. Being able to discuss
and evaluate your ideas with other people allows you to broaden and strengthen
your ideas. Furthermore resulting less mistakes and avoiding things that are
usually very easily over looked while producing the production.
2) "You should not film it at night as it is too dangerous"
"The should be enough lighting for us to see the characters face""How will you portray it in two minutes?"
"What if the characters you have do not want to be gay?"
"You need to include the mother in your video, because it looks like you have forgotten about her"
"May be hard to execute"
"You can ask the drama department for characters"
"Overall it has a good concept"
3) From the discussion I have picked up on a few area's to
consider and enhance. This includes, frequently or even just at the end of the
sequence to add the protagonists mother who is motivating the whole idea for
him to attain the money, this is so that the narrative makes sense and is dis
not cause confusion to the viewers. furthermore another element we have to
bring into consideration is the length of the narrative in the production, some
people think that the narrative for the sequence is too long to fit into two
minutes, resulting us to taker quicker shots or to takeout a few irrelevant
shots. Additionally, we need to make sure that our location is suitable and apt
in relation to the narrative, allowing the audience to suture into the
narrative, causing them to be more intrigued by it.
4)The target audience for the TV programme rages from ages
15-29, mostly teenagers. Who are currently in full time education or have part
time job who earn just over the minimum wage or a bit higher. They are
categorised as 'strugglers' in the psychographics chart this could be because
the programme itself is revolved around people of the same social status, which
may cause it become more appealing and attractive to them as a source of
entertainment. There are no gender restrictions or particular audiences in
relation to gender, the TV programme is unisex, this is because of the
subversion of the common stereotypes in our society. Further more there are no
specific ethnicities or races who might be more attracted to the TV show purely
because race has nothing to do with a source of entertainment, situated in the
diverse area of the suburb of London and is applicable to any ethnicity, who
may be able to relate to the production regardless if their ethnicity.
