What is the BBC hoping to achieve by including behind the scenes footage?

The BBC were hoping to capture a range of first hand emotions and experiences by directly speaking to the audience frequently during the visit to the extraordinary place. 'I think it worked', these experiences justifies the high budget or the licence fee, and satisfies the audience who have payed to watch this programme. Also it displays the positive brand image and promotes it by using and showing the high technology facilities that they have, which is seen behind the scenes. It also fulfills the remit of educating, informing and entertaining, by the humour which is incorporated through the information given by the programme. Moreover, the dedication which is given off by the team through behind the scenes which is personified through the high value production aimed at families.
