E4:


E4 began its first ever transmission on 18th January 2001 at 8:30pm, with a night hosted by Ali G. The "E" is an abbreviation for entertainment, the channel is mainly aimed at the age group of 15–35. Characteristics of the media consumers in regards to education and income level is something along the lines of, students working part time, usually teenagers. The income level is of a normal average part time worker. E4 is one of the most original original channels, successfully launching Skins, Inbetweeners and Misfits.

Brief History
On 16 December  2004, It had become a part of the Top Up TV subscription scheme however this was only until the 27th May 2005, the channel became available on Free view, the potential intention to increase their advertising revenue by appealing to a larger audience, causing more people to view and become interested in their channel. Later in February 2011 it had also won channel of the year at The Broadcast Awards.
